How to Fix “Outlook Stuck in Offline Mode” Error? [Solved]

I could very well be wrong about that. If my assumption that the problem is the server is correct, then your test would really just confirm that both “blu-m” and “bay-m” are buggy. I have a hotmail account and it did eventually download everything, but since then it consistently starts up and says Disconnected. After starting, the system tray icon shows “cannot connect to the server”, yet it works if I force it to connect via going offline and back on , and if I go through Test Account Settings, it connects just fine.

What I’ve tried so far: Created a new mail profile; tried Reconnect option from system tray it didn’t work and I no longer see that option ; moved the data file and started Outlook to force it to create a new one; tried some “Test” which was another option from the system tray icon – it tested successfully ; checked options for some magical “start in a connected state” option which didn’t exist; restarted several times.

I was facing the issue for over a week. At the same time i upgraded my internet connection to very high speed connection.

By then Outlook had downloaded all mails in all the sub-folders. I am not sure if time resolved the issue itself, or high speed connection resolved the issue or if downloading old mails resolved the issue. But currently outlook is working fine and the outlook resolved the issue itself.
