Eventually, Visual Studio now appears to have a Recent section in its jump list on the task bar. Edge does not appear to have a Recent or Frequent section though. I have the same question By the looks of things, the issue is limited to this version of Chrome browser and Windows Unpinning the Google Chrome icon and repining it to the taskbar is a temporary workaround, according to user reports.

New Window, New Incognito Window when right clicking on the icon. The task options do show when right clicking on the Chrome icon located in the Windows 10 Menu system.

Re-pinning the icon to the taskbar from the menu does allow the taskbar icon to show the task options upon right click but only temporarily.

For now, users can turn to the repining icon workaround to fix the issue until a full fix lands. We have also reached out to Google for more information on the bug and will update the article when an answer is offered.

I uninstalled chrome and deleted all the associated folders, including the ones in the “AppData” folder. Everything seems to be working fine, except now I cannot open new tabs and incognito tabs via the taskbar.

I did hear from other people that it is just a matter of time before Windows recognizes these links as used frequently, and restores them.

I have never made a restore point. I uninstalled Chrome, because my Amazon pages were not working properly, even after a cache and cookie reset When I did uninstall Chrome I did it in the exact same way you described. Very weird, but they are working properly now without me doing anything specific. I am glad to hear it’s fixed. It sounds like it needed time and possibly restarts to rebuild the jump list cache. System Restore is your first line of defense if Windows ever malfunctions as it can run even from recovery media to get you back before a problem started.
