I have Windows 10 Home and have had issues with graphics for several months. Generally either screen tearing or having graphic images flicker. This occurs in the Start menu section of the screen, or in the Microsoft games solitaire, mahjong, etc. There are no problems in my desktop or in desktop applications i.

MS Office , Access , Quicken, etc. This stayed that way for about 2 weeks. Now, without touching the Intel driver this is the latest version ; all of a sudden, the sprites and the screen tearing have returned but not as bad as several months ago.

Note: I am not having any problems with the Windows 10 automatic updates. The update selection also includes updates for other Microsoft products. For additional resolution for your concern, we suggest that you perform a clean boot.

To further assist you, we would like to know if another Windows Update was installed on your computer. Since you’re not yet performing a clean boot on your computer, if there’s a recent update that was installed on your computer, we recommend that you uninstall the update and check if the issue persists.

For more information on how to temporarily prevent a driver update from reinstalling in Windows 10, you may refer to this article. I was finally able to perform a “clean boot” sort of. I still have the graphic corruption occurring.

Note: I followed the instructions for a clean boot, however when I got into the “Task Manager – Startup tab” I was able to “Disable” all items except for one. Although it gave me the selection to disable, it would not change status.

Before re-installing it, I did check to see if the graphics corruption was still occurring it was. Since this is an ongoing problem for several months – and note: a two week period where everything was working correctly , I don’t think Microsoft would want me to roll back several months of “Automatic” updates. Not everything is being corrupted. For example my Microsoft office works and displays correctly, as well as many other desktop applications. Only certain graphical instances get corrupted.

Possible clue to problem. One 32 bit and the other 64 bit. I tried the 32 bit and it worked OK. However when I used the 64 bit version, when I tried to a second selection – the program froze on me. In reply to Michael Gall’s post on April 10, I have yet to try the “clean boot”. The instructions make is seem simple, but I need to document every service that is running before I shut them down; so that I know what should be running when I attempt to return to a normal boot.

This issue has persisted through several weekly updates. This issue is not new, it is ongoing. However, after updating to the newest Intel HD graphics driver, I had problems.

Then after a couple of weeks, all problems went away. A couple of weeks later, the problems returned. So I still have the issue using my Intel HD graphics Any ideas? User Moderator. If not, try to check to the manufacturer if they have the latest driver available.
