Hi – My 12 mos old dell inspiron crashed during a windows update. The sytem is uefi only no legacy boot mode option. Disabled secure boot. Bootup goes to bitlocker recovery. I enter bitlocker key correctly. Then it loops back to bitlocker recovery key again and again. No other options like skip this drive is available.

Inserted usb in stuck pc. F12 and made USB first boot order. Secure boot is disabled. Any other recommendations on how to get the USB revovery to boot up? If I set the boot device to hard drive and disable secure boot I get the bitlocker recovery key. I enter the recovery key correctly and it returns to the same bit locker recovery menu. I also entered ESC for more recovery options and it comes back to the same bitlocker recovery menu.

I set the boot device to the USB. I get the dell logo black screen loop. Progress I think I was able to get to the windows boot manager menu by creating a USB recovery disk with macrium.

However, I now get the 0xcf a required device is not connected error. If i hit enter it goes back to same error. Esc just takes me to bios menu. I boot sequence flash drive then hardrive. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community.
