I do not want that Dongle hogging a USB slot just to keep my device synced when Fitbit Connect worked perfectly with the flex!! The device synced just fine with my Windows PC however when I fo to change devices on my Windows phone I was using the Flex iwndows Alta is not even an option.

In response to Cosmichomicide. I agree Fitbit should have made it very clear there are devices the Alta would not work with and that it will not work with the Fitbit Connect application! That is my biggest issue!! We love our Alta’s and have decided to fittbit them but I will not ever pre-order another product from Fitbit unless they become more transparent with new products Sent from my iPhone.

Download the Fitbit Connect program in your computer, in case that you’re using a Window 10 computer you can use this link to download the correct one. We kept getting messages that there was a problem with the bluetooth setup along with directions for unpairing the fitbit from the laptop. I lost count of how many times we tried uninstalling and reinstalling and doing steps in different sequences. We were on the verge of returning it and getting her a new present, but we finally got it working. After the firmware update, we thought we were home free, but wait…there was more!

We noticed a notification in the app saying that an update was available for the tracker, but the app could no longer communicate with the Alta HR. As it turns out, that first firmware update renamed the device.

Remember how it was showing up at Atom in the Bluetooth pairing? Now, it is called Alta HR. Once that was done, communication between the tracker and the Windows 10 fitbit app worked just fine.
